Lower back tightness on holiday

Lower back tightness while on holiday is never fun, especially when your therapist is also having time off.

The lower back is also known as the lumbar spine which is formed by five vertebral bones, intervertebral discs, nerves, muscles, ligaments, and blood vessels.

What movement hurts the low back? Flexion (bending over), extension (bending backs), side bending (lending/reaching down your sides), or rotation (twisting). Generally, it’s a flexion movement that will hurt the lumbar spine, movements such as bending over to tie your shoelace or possibly picking up an item from the ground.

If this is the case, have you tried these two exercises which may help with some relief? Try these two exercises then retest your movement.

Hope you enjoy your break.
